First segment attempt

Tried my first segment today. Have inadvertently done a couple before whilst on local routes but this time I had the intention of giving one a real go. Found a nice flat one fairly local so took a leisurely 13k ride as a warm up to get there. Started off at a good pace then I noticed a massive farm vehicle with caterpillar tracks pulling out onto the road ahead of me. It pretty much took up the entire road as it was on a narrow stretch. I thought about darting down the side of it but the driver was all over the place so that didn't seem like a great idea. I had to slow to a crawl and then the twat suddenly put his brakes on to stop. I nearly fell of my bike doing an emergency unclip. The driver poked his head out of the cab to wave me past which was decent of him but I must have lost over a minute slowing down, stopping, then speeding up again. By the time I was back under way, I had lost my focus as I was gutted a too busy turning the air blue.

What a massive kick in the balls!

Hoping for better luck next time but really looking forward to using segments as part of my training.
