Total Distance Reports Swimming as Miles not Meters

The "Total Distance" report on the new Connect interface has a defect. If you're a swimmer, the meters are counted as miles. I have yet to start telling people I swim 10,000 miles a week.

The real problem, though, is that I'm far more concerned about my per-week running totals. And, since it appears that I swim about 300 times the distance I run, the running mileage doesn't get a single row of pixels in the chart. I can "de-select" the swimming option to see the running totals, but that doesn't persist between sessions, so the next time I log in, it's a chart full of epic swimming distances.

What we really need a separate reports for each activity type. Having running, swimming, and cycling all "added" together in one bar is a pretty useless visual representation of the data since each of those things involves vastly different distances for similar amounts of total effort.

I agree completely. I also noticed since the upgrade that I have been swimming about 10,000 miles per month! Come on Garmin, this should be pretty simple stuff. Upgrades.... not downgrades.

I got the same issue. All my swim distances show up in huge number of miles. Good to know that I swam 14,000 miles... but I really didn't.
  • Dang, 10k swimming in a week? I wish I was a good swimming. I'm enjoying my 2000 miles (although my pool is in yards and still showing 2000yds = 2000 miles)

There's something wrong with Garmin but there's no response from Garmin forthcoming. Support this thread if you think the communication can improve.

I have the same problem. My "reports" are being completely distorted by the thousands of Kilometers I am swimming (when in reality it is metres). It makes the whole "reports" section pointless.

It only started around 1 week ago. GARMIN - please correct this as this was a useful summary of my monthly/weekly activity and is now impossible to read.
  • Same problem with my swim data on Reports. Come on Garmin do not bury your head in the sand as per normal !!
  • Same here. I have the feeling that they are multiplying by 1000. I did 2.075 km and shows 2,075 km.
  • I have the same issue with te reports. I have my units in meters and if I swim 1km = 10 meters but the Total Distance Report reads 1,000 km. It looks like it is only happening with Swimming activities.

I have same finding. I swam 1800m in 25m poll and the Total distance report (http://connect.garmin.com/modern/report/17/all/last_seven_days) shows I swam 1800km - so far more than 30-50km I did on bike on other days in same week (30 Sep - 6 Oct 2014).
I didn't find any link for reporting a bug in Garmin Connect. Am I blind or there is no any? I wonder if reports from this thread get to somebody from Garmin Connect development team.
