Edit Multisport activities

Former Member
Former Member
Hi,

I tried the search function but could not find anything to resolve my problem..

I have done a triathlon on the weekend and uploaded it to Garmin Connect. I really like that it now shows u as a single event and not as 5 individual activities as before (swim, bike, run and 2 transitions).

My problem is however that I cannot edit the workout. Like so many times I forgot to press lap after the triathlon and now my total time is way too long. I tried to use the edit function and just change the time (how I can do it with normal activities) but my changes are not being saved.

I am not sure if that's a bug, was done by intention or I simply make a mistake but does anyone have a solution on this?

Any help is really welcome!

Thanks

    Hello Willy,

    There were 3 run and 3 cycling and 5 transition sessions in your files.

    Connect would not load 11 sessions so I put just the 3 run and 3 cycling sessions into a MultiSport and it loaded.

    I added calories to the runs using a 165lb male and 40cal per mile for cycling.

    So....here ya go. A multisport manufactured with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    Hello Willy,

    I learned something new today....

    If the "Transition" sessions are changed to "Generic" then Connect will load all 11 sessions :)

    So....here are the 11 sessions in a MultiSport with the transitions labeled as generic.

    (Bike 2mile splits)
    Lap1 = 7:34.9
    Lap2 = 7:55.5
    Lap3 = 7:57.9
    Lap4 = 8:19.6
    Lap5 = 7:58.4

    Hello Caroline,

    Using the speeds in your file along with the fact that you were repeating the same circular course, I get these 5 sessions.

    Either the course is short or your device is consistently measuring short??

    Also, I did not rebuilt the splits and your HRM is recording extremely high values.

    Here is your MultiSport fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    Hi Datezz, thank you for fixing the file - yes I think the course must be short :/

    I'm pretty sure my heartrate is naturally high, with me having a resting hr of 80-90bpm (Im a 19yo 110lb female) so I'm not too worried about that as other heart rate monitors show the same sort of measures

    thanks again

    Please help, over excited debut duathlon.

    Hi,
    Could anyone please help me split/qualify my fit file?
    I entered my first Duathlon and in all the excitement think I pushed wrong buttons on my fenix? My efforts show as one activity, which messes up all my stats, super speedy runner or slow cyclist!
    the event was timed separately by marshalls ( stopwatch not chip ) and their published results are:
    run 1 : 00:25:00
    run to bike transition: 00:01:05
    bike lap 1: 00:11:55
    bike lap 2: 00:12:33
    bike lap 3: 00:12.20
    bike lap 4: 00:12:45
    bike to 2nd run transition: 00:01:14
    run 2: 00:14:52
    I was super pleased with my efforts, and have tried Garmin customer support in person but to no avail. If anyone can help I would be extremely grateful.

    Hello Kelvin,

    I got your laps within a couple seconds and manufactured a new MultiSport.

    I uploaded it to Connect and found that when I selected the entire file and asked it to plot over Distance the auto-play function flatlined over major distances???

    If I selected separate sessions, Run, Cycle, etc and plotted over distance then the auto-play functioned just fine.

    Plotted over Time the auto-play functioned fine for everything. I think the file is good and Connect has a mal-function somewhere.

    So....here ya go. Manufactured a Multi-Sport with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    now really excited!

    Wow, wow, wow,
    Thank you so much, so pleased, not only are my personal stats now more accurate but I can now hold my head up high and wont be ostracised on Strava!
    Really am very grateful especially as I went into Garmins UK headquarters and was told this couldn't be done!
    Brilliant

    Hello Kelvin,

    You are welcome but keep in mind that it is the brilliant software built by Mathias that makes this possible.

    I am just an experienced user. :)
