map data gone from old garmin connect files

Hi,
Recently I have lost map data and altitute/HR data from my garmin connect logs of all training sessions that i did before March 2012. They were there for years and I enjoy looking back at them but now they are gone! The skeleton details are still there, such as time average speed, date distance but nothing else. I would really like to get this data back. If someone could help that would be great!

i am having this problem as well. the post for others suffering the same problem is no longer valid.

Hello.

I have also discovered the same issue. Lots of my older activities are suddenly missing the map data so I can no longer look at the map routes. Most annoying. Is there anyway to get this data back?

I received a reply at the time from garmin...After reviewing information from engineering: it is possible for the activities uploaded more than a year ago to lose the detailed information.

They suggested using my watch to respond the data. I had deleted it from the watch.

I just transferred over to strava instead back in 2014 and no issues since. To be fair I don't think they've "dropped" the map detail of any of my other data since.

You could try exporting the Activity as Original, deleting it from GC, and then importing back from the file.
