Will we get a time in heart rate zone reports anytime soon?

I had hoped with the 'modern' Garmin Connect upgrade Garmin would have provided better reporting in terms of heart rate analysis. Many Garmin fitness products are supplied with heart rate monitors and they very much push the concept of training within the 5 standard heart rate zones. However, the support for training in zones only seems to go as far as 'in activity'. Any heart rate zone analysis post workout is almost impossible with Garmin Connect. HR stats are limited to avg and max for a given session.

For those training seriously, using HR zones, several reports are ideally required. First, time/percentage in zone for a given activity and secondly a report of time/percentage in zone by week/month. Do Garmin have any plans to extend the reporting capabilities to include such reports?

Garmin publish HR zone based training plans so I'm surprised these reports are unavailable now. How are those following training plans supposed to know how much time they've spend in a zone and therefore how well have they managed to stay on plan. We also know many 'fitness enthusiasts' make the mistake of training in Zone 3 too often but without access to summary reports how are they supposed to know?

I really share the frustration. I have been using Garmin Connect since the site was launched, and before that I used Motionbased. In those early days of Garmin Connect the "HR-zone reports" was on a list of new upcoming features, but after a while it was taken off the list. I have to admit that it is VERY disappointing that Garmin after all these years still haven't been able to imploy these most important and most valuable reports in the new GC. There are lots of other more or less useless reports to watch, but who cares about time on ground an vertical movement??

For my own part I use the Tapiriik syncronizer ( https://tapiriik.com/ ) to syncronize activities between GC and Trainingpeaks. In TrainingPeaks I find all the reports I miss in GC. But a TP Premium-lisence costs 20$/month, and these reports should absolutely been avaliable in GC ages ago! The main reason I still stick to GC is that I have all my training activities since 2007 stored there. But at the next crossroad I certainly will consider other options.

Garmin Connect is able to provide 'Time in Zone' information. This information comes from compatible devices. Use this link for a list of compatible devices.

I think there may be a misunderstanding in the request.
I think the what the OP is requesting, as well as myself and others, is the ability to show "time in Zones" for all activities in a given week or month.
I know I can see percentage in zones per activity. However, say I run 5 times a week and would like 80% of my overall time in running to be in Zone 2. The only way to do this at the moment is to look at each and every activity's "Time in Zones" chart then add them all together for a week adjusting for difference in time ran.

I would love to see a Garmin report created for weekly or monthly averages of "Time in Zones". This is something easy in concept but tedious to do manually.

Ex. (Averages of all Running Activites for 7 day or 1 month)

    CONNECT REPORTS, RUNNING
    [7DAY] 1MONTH
    ZONE 5: 1% |*
    ZONE 4: 5% |**
    ZONE 3: 15% |********
    ZONE 2: 75% |************************************************
    ZONE 1: 4% | **

At least your device gives you time in zones per activity and the data is visible in GC! I can't even see that for my 310XT even though the really old stand alone software, Garmin Training Centre, used to produce time in zones in tabular form 5 years ago. So much for progress.
