I notice when I run the graphical reports... that only running, cycling and walking show up. Hiking does not appear (this could be included in walking). Also distance and events of other activities does not show up. The distances are in the progress report table though. At a minimum it would be good to have Hiking included in the walking category in the graphs. And perhaps also all other activities in an 'other' category. Thanks
I dearly miss the "hiking" activity in the "modern" reports. Clearly a missed requirement: it obviously should be possible to report on all "activities" of the pick list: why would users buy a device (mine is Forerunner 610) if they can't exploit the data?
+1 here too. Strangely, I briefly saw some of my hikes show up in an "Other" category in the reports (total distance and total activity time), but I don't know how or why. For some reason, I'm now back to only seeing running and cycling in those reports. I have no idea how that "other" category appeared or disappeared.
Edit: It would be ideal to have all the activity categories available in Connect.
"Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I would be happy to help you with this. Your correct that hiking activities will not show up in reports. Unfortunately, there no plans to add this into Garmin Connect. We will make note of this request for you and as more requests come in this might be added. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thank you and have a great day!"
I have noticed the same thing and log most of my miles. I would like to see hiking added to the total distance report. I have logged a few snowshoe trips and it as least falls in the "other" category.
Connect seems oriented towards triathlon events and training, with the other stuff added on as an afterthought. It just seems like it would be relatively trivial to add this functionality.
