How to stop Virb from uploading automatically

hi, i'm using an Edge 1000 and Virb Elite on my bike. when i added the Virb to the Garmin Express software, it automatically uploaded all the data it had to Garmin Connect and Strava. i had to go into the two accounts to search and delete all the data. i have removed it for now but i want the Virb added for the purposes of future software updates.
Pretty simple. You add the VIRB to Express, but then don't pair it with your Garmin Connect account. That's what I've done, and I can update my VIRB without having to deal with the extra tracks. If you ever do want a VIRB track on GC, simply do a manual upload.
Or... if you want to keep the Virb data separate, just in case of a future need, just create a separate Connect account for the Virb and synch to that.
