Calories counter does not record activities and shows wrong calories burned

I have two devices: Forerunner 220 and newly received vivosmart. I connected both two my Garmin connect account. And strange problems happen.

1) Calories burned through activities recorded by forerunner 220 are completely ignored. I took a 2.60 mile run in the morning, and burned 390+ calories. Although wearing vivosmart, I was not using it in the 'activity mode', merely steps. These 390+ calories just went nowhere.

2) After walking 12000+ steps today (up to now), garmin connect still shows 2143 calories burned, with only 82 calories being 'active'. The rest are BMR. This does not make any sense at all. And the vivosmart screen says 1802 calories burned up to now.

3) Connecting with MFP, and in the morning, it shows
Garmin Connect Calories Burned 3863
Full Day Projection
Based on 2142 cal. burned as of 8:03 AM

And now, in the afternoon, it says
Garmin Connect Calories Burned 3135
Full Day Projection
Based on 2142 cal. burned as of 1:11 AM

Maybe I am an idiot, but sorry I cannot make any sense out of these numbers.

In short, for my case, the calories shown by Garmin Connect are totally messed up. Was excited about the new vivosmart, now totally disappointed.
