The FR220 doesn't track steps. That's done by the FR15 and Vivofit and the just announced viv0smart.
Wow a 300.00 watch and it doesn't record your steps or miles on the leadership board, that is quite interesting. Thank you so much for your response. Have a great night.
I'm puzzled - I understood that the 220 does count steps using the new HRM which has a motion sensor built in - if you don't have that then you won't get cadence or number of steps. It is also compatible with the footpod which would count steps - I have cadence and number of steps in my workouts on the FR610 using a foot pod.
He actually has something of a point, although I personally don't know why you'd want to know "steps". If the 220 shows and knows cadence, then (average running cadence) x (activity time) is the total number of steps. At the end of every fit file that my Edge 800 produces is the total number of "cycles", the total number of times I spun the cranks around (I have cadence sensors on all of my bikes). I only discovered this by accident. No piece of software and no web site that I use shows this number, since it's pretty pointless to know. The 220 does record more useful numbers than "steps".
I wore a Withings Pulse for 7 months, and concluded that step counting is pretty pointless, at least for me. That's why I stopped wearing the Pulse.
Connect shows number of steps for every activity on my 610 if the footpod is connected. It is of no interest to me as a runner but it is displayed and if my battery would last 24 hours then I guess I could record my steps for the day.
