Garmin Connect sharing activity...data incorrectly displayed in metric?

Today I shared an activity with a friend via Garmin Connect (first using mobile app, later using the website) when he accessed the link to the activity the data is shown in metric. The upper right hand corner shows English but it seems like the language is in Italian.

My first run with Garmin 220.... Same issue. Incorrect language and data...metric.

I went for a run this morning, shared the activity and the same thing happens.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
