I have an Edge 810 with cadence and speed sensors. I have had trouble with the magnet catching on the sensor and so I moved it to another, more distant, spoke. In fact, I moved it too far so it didn't detect speed.
I thought, though, that, if the speed sensor wasn't working, the unit would measure distance by use of the GPS.
It hasn't. So that, during my ride, I got no speed readouts and, when I uploaded the ride, there was no speed data and no course map.
I realise that I should have stopped and repositioned the magnet but, once I was into the ride, I didn't want to fiddle around with it.
Is this data lost? The unit must have surely been measuring it, just like my Edge 200?
