Modern Version with a Mac

Okay. I am truly frustrated. I have the Garmin 210 that I use religiously for my runs. I am also a Mac user. When Garmin came out with the "Modern Version" of the Garmin, I have been completely unable to connect my Garmin to download the runs. It does't see my device. When I switch to the "Classic View" it works great. I can upload my runs. It sees my device.

So, my fear is that Garmin will eventually get rid of the "Classic View" and go completely to the "Modern View". What then? I have downloaded the latest software, yet it still fails to see my device.

Any other Mac users out there have this problem? Anyone with a solution? I would be okay with the "Modern version" (although, to be honest, I like the Classic View better), but if it can;t see my device, I am screwed.

Help would be nice. Thanks!
  • Are you using Garmin Express?

ANT Agent with old GC. Garmin Express with new.
  • Go to http://garmin.com/macosx, download and install Garmin Express. Get your Forerunner 210 into Express, and link it with your Garmin Connect account. After that, each time you plug your 210 into your computer, it should automatically upload new activities to Garmin Connect. Connect Modern does not use the Communicator plugin like Classic did, and you don't upload via the web. My Edge 800 and Fenix 1 work just fine that way connected to my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro using Garmin Express.
