Additional Fenix 2 ROMs

I really like my Fenix2 as it does all that I could hope for and more. I was golfing this weeking with a friend who has the new Garmin golf watch and it seems like the hardware is very similar. While I don't want to go buy another watch, I would certainly entertain buying an add-on ROM that would allow my Fenix2 to have the same golf functionality as the newer Garmin golf watch. It seems that the hardware is identical or at least very similar (If they are different, I'd imagine that the fenix2 has the superior/more capable hardware.) Has Garmin thought about providing users the ability to purchase this sort of thing instead of having to buy multiple watches?
