Share to facebook only posts a URL. Seriously?

I'm looking for more threads on this specific issue, and although it's mentioned in threads as part of "Facebook sharing issues", I believe this is such a simple feature to improve that I can't believe that it's still not fixed.

Any free application can post basic information like:
- distance
- time
- description
- map
- type of activity

Garmin posts a URL? This is absolutely annoying.

If it's not too much to ask, why the activities have the Title "Untitled" by default? Wouldn't it be more intelligent to put "Activity Type - Distance", like "Running 10km"...

I mean, these basic features... just look at any other applications... it's all there.
  • Yes, it posts a URL, but that URL is to a page that contains a summary of your activity. The end result is this...

Given that, I'm unsure exactly what you're complaining about.

Well, that's not what happens when I post from Garmin connect. I get the plain URL and that's it.

    Example:

And I'm not the only one complaining about this.
  • iPhone + mobile Facebook = what you see on your iPhone. What do you see on the full desktop version of Facebook?
  • On my iPhone 5c with iOS 7 and the Facebook app, I see much the same thing as I see using Safari in OS X 10.9, essentially what Travis shows. A map, and the beginnings of stats (because they all don't fit the screen). Not just a link. Facebook's Paper iOS app shows all of the stats. So what iOS and what iPhone are we talking about here?

    Here's a screenshot:

How do accomplish that? When I share my activity on Facebook only a link is posted.
  • In which case the OP likely needs to look at his iPhone settings. I only commented because it was clearly an iPhone screenshot he posted that seemed to imply a difference between desktop and iPhone.

On Desktop the share to Facebook is working fine.

The issue is on sharing it from the iPhone. I have an iPhone 5S with IOS 7 and a Garmin 620.

The workaround I found is to copy the link and paste it in the Facebook. Still a crappy experience, compared to any other fitness App.

I assume there's no solution then.

Right, I am complaining about exactly the same thing. A URL does not allow me to boast to my friends what I jsut did and how well. I would also be great if it said I achieved a personal record or something. Hardly appropriate as a post for social networking. And yes I use an iphone 4s and on ios 7.
