Cannot manually add activity

I am switching to Garmin and trying to upload my previous activities from TomTom. I was having problems uploading the .fit or .gcx files, so I tried to enter a few in manually.

Whenever I attempt to enter in a manual activity, I get the following message:

"You have entered a value that is not accepted by the database. Please enter a new value."

I have no idea why. I have tried every combination of values, rounding mileages, leaving non-essential fields out.

Is this a new problem, and does anyone have a fix for it, or an ETA on Garmin's correction?

Garmin must have started using Cognizant or another one of the India-based firms for all of their IT work, everything they do seems to suck now and always be broken. Can't upload any activities, can manually add them, the so-called "modern" interface is absolutely horrible... Sigh. Time to switch to something else.

I finished a run this evening and attempted to upload the run from my 620 through the garmin connect app. No such luck. Interestingly, the file automatically uploaded to Strava via the garmin link. Can't upload manually connecting the device to my computer. I export the successfully uploaded strava activity to a gpx file, but this won't manually upload to garmin connect. Not sure what's going on.
  • Agreed, I'm fed up with Garmin at this point. 310XT was good but upgrading to 910XT and now random activities would not show up on Connect. Even force transfer of all activities is missing. Also to add insult to injury, my 910XT's barometer just went out with the dreaded 20000M issue. Connect has so many quirks it's borderline unusable sometimes, such as right now as I'm trying to manually upload activity since my watch won't.

Garmin - if you bother reading these boards, I will NEVER buy your products ever again and recommend all my triathlon/run/cycle friends to do the same. You may have a leg up on the competition right now but Suunto, TomTom etc are coming for you.
  • I have the same issue. No uploads through Garmin Express, no manual uploads, Strava does work however. I never complain but this happens too often. Garmin products and services are unreliable.

Same issues. The activities won't sync and were lost. I tried to add a manual activity and it says, "You have entered a value that is not accepted by the database. Please enter a new value." Trying to add a manual activity via the mobile app shows "Unknown Exception" and won't add there either. This is getting very frustrating.
  • Same problem here, you go to upload a gpx file and it says uploading and doesn't do anything else. Hadn't had a problem before this with uploading gpx files.
