Is there a problem with the Garmin Connect backend?

I just got back from a run and synced my Forerunner 620 via WiFi. The transfer completed, but when I logged into Garmin Connect, the activity wasn't there. I synced again with the USB cradle, and the activity still did not appear in Connect. I just now tried uploading the FIT file manually, and Connect is hanging on Uploading...

I also tried transferring my personal records to the 620, on which I did a master reset last week after the watch rebooted at the end of a workout. Connect opened Garmin Express to do the transfer but it hung while preparing the file, and the file modification date did not change on the watch filesystem, so it had not yet reached the point of writing data to the watch.

Makes me wonder whether part of the site's back end has crashed. Has anyone else noticed this problem?

Same trouble here - generic error message from the PC application and the upload on the website just hangs. I've only had my Forerunner 15 a few weeks and the hardware is great but this is the third major (more than a few hours) outage I've seen on Garmin Connect. OK so this time it's only uploading that is effected (last time the whole site was out) but this is pretty amateur hour. When I pay the best part of $200 for a product I expect it to work, and frankly if the website doesn't work then the watch is of little use to me!

Wish I had found this thread 3 hours ago.

I am getting the same problems with my 310XT and have spent all morning resetting, uninstalling and re-installing software, heck I even tried a hard reset. I managed to load my data onto another site so I will export/import when this problem is fixed.

Garmin, I have worked in IT all my life so I can accept that systems can and do fail, what is totally unacceptable is the lack of communication which leads to many wasted hours.

I dread to think how many man-hours have been spent world wide by people doing exactly what I have done this morning.

    Very frustrated.

I feel exactly the same. Spent most of this morning trying different routines of opening garmin express / connect/ switching my 305 on / off to try and upload last night's run. Just get a symc error message on express - detailed info says 'error', or I get a never finished uploading on Connect upload.

Spent 2 hours last week trying to get the Modern view working and only managed to solve my issues by going back to Connect traditional view.

The silence from Garmin is deafening.

Beginning to assume 305 an old product so no longer supported but if I upgrade the Garmin software makes me seriously tempted to try another manufacturer.

Experiencing the same issue here since about 12 hours now...I have a FR620 and while the watch says there are no new training to transfer, the last one isn't on Garmin Connect. I tried to manually add the FIT file, no luck either. Someone at Garmin should wake up and confirm there is an issue and that they're working on it!!! A twitter account or Facebook page would be quite useful now!

I am having the same problem this morning. I had two workouts - both had problems syncing, then said they synced successfully, only to find out that not only did they not sync, they are now GONE from my Forerunner. Gone forever. And I cannot manually enter the workout either. Gives me a database error message no matter what I enter.

Garmin and their lousy, glitchy software and lack of communication on issues is starting to get on my LAST nerve.
  • Same problem here w/ an Edge 800. Began sometime between Sunday afternoon and Monday evening (EDT). Cannot upload activities with Garmin Connect website (old or new) or sync with Garmin Express. Cannot import a .fit file from my device or from disk. The service must be malfunctioning, but I've seen no announcements from Garmin. Frustrating and disappointing.
