Lost ANT stick

Hi,
I seem to have lost the ANT stick, when I plug my garmin into the mac with the usb garmin connect is not recognising its there. Do I need an ANT stick or can I somehow connect with the usb cable?

If your device came with an ANT+ Stick, then you need that to be able to communicate with a computer. For ANT+ devices, the USB cable exists only for charging.
