Forerunner 301 and 305 wont upload

I have a Forerunner 301 that suddenly stopped connecting toConnect and Training Centre & Garmin Express, it says no device attached, yet both devices charge perfectly, I have tried everything from uninstalling software & reinstalling & also cleaning all contacts to no avail, I recently acquired a Garmin Forerunner 305 & exactly the same happens, it seems remarkable that the same problem exists with both watches, PLEASE HELP, could there be something in a firewall maybe but my Garmin 303 sat Nav has no such problem
