I'd like to import a course to Garmin Connect

I'd like to be able to import a course (for example a .gpx file) to Garmin Connect and save it in my list of courses. The only way I have found to do it is add a .gpx file as an activity, open the activity, save as a course then delete the activity. This is okay as a work around but since the new link to Strava is working fantastically well, I've found if I add an activity just to get the route as a course, Strava thinks I've just ridden the route, so I then need to go and delete it from there too. Is there any way just to import the file straight into courses? It would be great just to have an 'import route' button on the course page in Garmin Connect.
