Triathlon/Multisport Upload

I just completed my first triathlon using the auto multisport feature of 910XT. When I uploaded the data, it shows up as 5 different entries/activities in Garmin Connect instead of one entry/activity. Can I get this to show up as one entry/activity instead of five? And if not, Garmin, can you get on top of this. Very frustrating.

So far, I'm not happy with the new Garmin Connect site. I've been using Garmin devices for a long time and feel this new Connect structure is a step backwards.

    hi Neal,

I've fixed a few corrupt .fit files from 910XT triathlon users and all of them have been split into 5 different activities swim/T1/cycle/T2/run - guess it's the way that it works so that people can analyse each of the legs separately.

I think I can join the 5 activities into one entry using the Fit File Repair Tool and if you are happy for me to use your .fit file from your triathlon as a guinea pig then I am happy to give it a shot.

If so then just attach the .fit file in a reply to this post.

    cheers
    Mike
  • What Mike said. The individual legs of the event upload as separate activities. This is actually quite handy. It allows you to compare the 5K run from a sprint triathlon to an open 5K run. If the activity had a combined swim/bike/run (+transitions), you couldn't compare the components without Garmin doing a significant rewrite of the Garmin Connect web application.

If you just want one activity, then use the Lap button with Auto Multisport disabled. You won't get custom data fields for each leg of the race, but you'll get the single activity that you want. Additionally, you could stop using Garmin Connect and start using the Garmin Training Center application.
  • I think it should be viewed as a single activity and give an option to view each part separately.I would be more useful to see the full-time triathlon and then to see each part individually.

    Anton,

looks like the followed your advise… I just uploaded a triathlon completed today and it is a single event… which I have to say I am not happy with…

anyone know of away to separate a single multisport event into it's component events?

I uploaded a multisport activity yesterday and all three activities were grouped into one event. I also had the option of viewing each activity separately. From what I've read, this is a new feature with the modern connect. Seems like its not working for everyone though...
