New user, several issues/questions

Just picked up the edge 1000, and am a first time Garmin Connect user. Having a few issues / questions I can't seem to find the answer for, so I'll ask here ( if it's in another thread I did not find while searching, please point me to the links )

1) The Calendar - Shows weekly totals at the end as it should, however, NO events show up at all... Is this normal behavior? I rode yesterday ( Augest 9th ), yet yesterdays Calendar entry shows nothing other the the weight entry where I set it initially. ( the activity shows fine under the activity section ). This screen shot is using Chrome on windows 7, however, I've tried it with IE on the same pc with the same results, as well as my laptop using both browsers.

2) I've uploaded all of my old Strava data. My Personal records on the Garmin site do not take into account ANY imported session, only the one ride I have done so far with the new edge unit. Does it not examine those for PR's?

3) All rides with the Edge unit, using my phone and the Garmin Connect app to upload to the web site, show as "untitled" rides. I noticed many on here complaining about this, and I see no change from Garmin, is there a way to auto name the old ones by chance? Some wonderful java script or something out there before I set off to manually change them all ( ugh.... no fun )?

After using it today....

4) I road a course I created. After the ride, I look on Garmin Connect, the ride is listed, but no course is listed. My Edge knew I was riding it.. It even did the turn by turn. Where did it go between my device and the web?

This is a common issue, and the solution is pretty simple.

I've uploaded all of my old Strava data. My Personal records on the Garmin site do not take into account ANY imported session, only the one ride I have done so far with the new edge unit. Does it not examine those for PR's?

Garmin Connect should examine your imported files for PRs. Unfortunately the PR system on Garmin Connect probably doesn't behave as you'd expect. If the first run you upload is 10mi run, Garmin Connect will not search that activity for the fastest 1K, 1mi, 5K and 10K segments and treat those as PRs. Garmin Connect only automatically recognizes personal records when the distance of the entire activity is sufficiently close to the PR distance. i.e., if you upload a 3.12mi run, it is likely to be considered for a 5K PR, but it will not be considered for the 1K or 1mi PRs. Additionally, some people have reported that the PR system just doesn't work, so there is also the possibility you're being affected by that.

All rides with the Edge unit, using my phone and the Garmin Connect app to upload to the web site, show as "untitled" rides.

Sadly, this is just the way it works on Garmin Connect. If you're interested, I could easily write a python script to rename the activities. You _might_ have been able to transfer your activities and their names directly from Strava using Tapiriik. I'm not certain if it copies activity names from Strava or not. Of course you could delete all of the activities that you transferred and then setup Tapiriik, but I'm not sure it would be worth it.

I road a course I created. After the ride, I look on Garmin Connect, the ride is listed, but no course is listed.

I'm almost certain that you have to assign the course after the ride is uploaded. If I remember correctly, the .fit file format doesn't have any information about the course that was followed. So the fact that you were following a course is only known to the device at the time you are riding the course. It is never saved anywhere, so it isn't really lost. That said, if the feature that you're expecting was implemented, I'm not sure how the service would handle it if you started an activity while following a course, and then stopped following that course part way through. Or if you completed a course and just kept riding. Or if you completed multiple courses during your activity.
