Garmin Connect direct upload (from Edge 1000) to Strava?

I understand that Connect will sync with Strava when using Garmin Express to upload, however, do you happen to know if Connect will sync when the Edge 1000 uploads directly over wifi as it doesn't seem to be working currently?

It should appear on Strava regardless of how you uploaded it. According to this page, they know about the delay and are working to get it resolved.
