Amend/ exclude activity to "correct" VO2 max calculation

Hi,

Can someone advise how would I go about excluding certain activities from VO2 max calculation?
Or make the VO2 max calculate based on amended speed?

I have several treadmill runs which are overestimating my speed/ stride length leading to exaggerated VO2 max.
I want to either exclude them or recalculate based on the amended lower distance.

Currently as I record those runs, my VO2 max chart fluctuates wildly (as follow).
  • Can't you edit the activity and adjust the distance. I'm not sure that the VO2max will be recalculated or not, but it seems that it should. If that doesn't work, it shouldn't be a big deal as the calculated value will retune to normal after a few outdoor runs.

The real question is why is the distance wrong in the first place, and what can you do fix that.
  • Ya.. the value fluctuates which is the annoying part.
Editing the data under "Full Edit" "corrects" the average pace but the average moving pace is still the original number so the VO2 max number still affected.

This seems to happen if I update the firmware and the indoor run is in the first 10 runs (?)

My guess is the issue happens because I run at the same cadence but for the indoor run I lengthen my stride as I am doing my pace runs :(
Guess it is thrown off as I run multitude pace but keeping similar cadence...
  • I would also like to be able to delete occasional values which have been calculated from bad data. Great suggestion.

  • Well, you could export the activity, edit manually the file, and then reimport it back

  • Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, no joy. Deleting the activity does not appear to affect the figure calculated for VO2.

  • VO2max is calculated on device, and sent to Garmin Connect "as is". Editing anything post-activity in Garmin Connect won't make any difference.
