Garmin Express slowing down my system

Is it just me or does the new Garmin Express slow down the entire computer? I've deleted and reinstalled the application, and still need to quit the program on start-up and after uploading my training. I don't mind the new interface (although do agree the old dashboard was better) but wish I could install the older versions.
