Trouble working with Garmin Express/Garmin Connect in Windows 8.0

Since moving to a new computer with windows 8 and now garmin express, I am unable to send courses to my edge 500. Any ideas what is going on? I've tried to get this to work for hours all to no avail. Becoming very frustrated and extremely unhappy with Garmin. Any help greatly appreciated.
Have you installed Garmin Express on your PC/Mac? If so, then check that it is the most current version. Garmin Express replaces Garmin Communicator and Ant Agent for for moving courses from the modern GC to your device. Of course for your edge 500 you likely only had Garmin Communicator installed. Ant Agent was mostly for certain Garmin Forerunner's
