Garmin Connect VERY SLOW

Is it just me or is the new website exceedingly slow to load? The home page takes about 12-15 seconds to respond, and when it does, nothing is displayed in any of the widgets. By the time I finally get to the activities page, it's taken more than 30 seconds. Maybe I'm spoiled by responsive websites and by the responsiveness of Garmin Connect before they did whatever they did to their website, but it's annoying, and I wanted to see if it was something I have turned on in my web browser, or if everyone has this issue.

Cheers,

-tom

It's completely un-usable for me. I've tried multiple browsers.
  • Same here - dead in the water. I think they have finally come to a grinding halt!
  • The original post to this thread was from a little before 9am Central Daylight Time. Garmin Connect was working ok for me an hour or so *after* that time, but now as @ksilhol says it's unusable. I can't get to http://connect.garmin.com at all right now - it's a blank page that just hangs.

[ EDIT: and now it's back again. Still a little slow, but it's back ]
  • Maybe they are migrating back to the previous version :p
  • Its dying and Gateway Timeout

I'm getting error pages displayed, its taking 5 minutes to display each page provided it doesnt just stop and display an error... trying to edit todays run is proving a nightmare as committing any edit is taking forever and seems to be a little hit and miss whether it has taken my updates anyway.

I'm using the old version (I tried the new "surface" type interface, hated it so went back to the classic. Be nice if they were going back to the classic and the threat of incompatibility with my lovely stable XP would go away!!

Based on what I am reading its the Garmin servers that are dying.

Just got this error where earlier I had been getting a Garmin error message...
    "Gateway Timeout
The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server.

    Garmin Connect nearly unusable

This is my first run with my brand new FR 220, and the Garmin Connect site is almost unusable for me due to looooooonnnnnnnggggg response time. I doubt I'll use the site again - FAR too painful. Experienced some other technical issues with the watch today on the run - don't know if I'll be keeping it or not (and I was so excited to get it!).
