Units showing in metric when a workout is shared

In my profile my unit of measure is set to Statute. When I share a workout via email and that person looks at it it shows up in Metric. How can this be changed?
For the longest time the units only appeared as Statute, and everyone outside of the US was super annoyed by this. Now the tables have turned. I can only assume that this is because the folks at Garmin are trying to fix it.
I'm having the same issue. And my workouts are appearing in a different language when I share them. This is very frustrating and never happened before with the old look.
