New version help please

Starting a new thread as the others have either gone off track or are just too complicated.
With the old version all I did was open connect from my favourites list. the next thing I knew I had the dashboard in front of me with all my activities in date order, most recent first.
All those not previously downloaded were now downloaded.
#I haven't hit Upload or whatever its called since initial set up.

Can some kind soul please tell me how to retain this?
1) I want the old dashboard.
2) I want auto uploading without having to go poking through a set of menus.
I want nothing else.
And I do NOT want such a unintelligent tour that tells me about things I do not want.
I suspect I shall carry on using the old version as long as it lasts then change to something less complex.
Anyone want to help? Maybe an expert who hasn't got an axe to grind?

I want the old dashboard.

You can access the classic dashboard here. At some point in the future, that will go away, so you should get used to the thought of using the new system.

I want auto uploading without having to go poking through a set of menus.

If you had automatic uploading before, and you haven't changed anything on your system, you should have automatic uploading now. You shouldn't need to change anything.

If you did change something on your system that broke automatic uploads, you will probably need to provide us more information and then work with us to help get your system to a working state again. Ideally this process would involve removing existing Garmin software (Garmin Express, ANT Agent, Garmin Communicator, ...), removing cruft from the old software, and then installing Garmin Express and configuring your device.

I can help you to do this if you'd like.

I re-read my post above and realize that it sounds like I am a Garmin employee. This is not the case.

This is what is so damn frustrating.
I did nothing to change anything.
Yesterday I happily used the old version.
Today when opening Connect I had the new version appear.

Are you saying I can't have a nice simple "dashboard anymore?
As for the Garmin software I haven't even heard of it. Never installed it.
Is there anyway I can read what those silly little icons down the left side show me without clicking on them. Most other stuff I sue shows me just by hovering over it.
Sorry but I am probably not going to be one who gets used to it unless I can get auto upload and a list of what has uploaded which I can edit without changing pages.
I currently open the dashboard, label the uploaded track of my ride and shut it down again.
Thanks for the reply. I suspect that you actually like computers and believe that we should change to suit them rather than my version which is if they don't do as I want they are just plain wrong.:rolleyes:
