Vivofit does not sync steps to garmin connect every time.

I have been having this issue for a while now but finally I am getting frustrated with garmin. The problem happens most often when I do not sync my vivofit with garmin connect for a couple of days. The issue is this: I will sync my vivofit with garmin connect with a couple of days between my last sync (3-4 days) and my steps will not sync for one or all the days from my last sync. I was under the impression from garmin that the vivofit could go a week or two between syncing(with HRM paired with vivofit) to garmin connect and I would still be able to upload my steps from the previous time I synced my vivofit as long as the time frame is between a week or two. I tried logging off and logging back in, syncing my vivofit repeatly, and reinstalling garmin connect to my Samsung Galaxy S4 and I am still getting the same result: garmin connect does not sync all the data.

This is so frustrating! I decided to go with the vivofit because I do a lot of backpacking and mountaineering and do not have the option to sync my vivofit to garmin connect every day. The return policy(time frame) has expired and I am losing faith in garmin producing a reliable fitness watch.

Garmin support, can you please respond to me in the forums, message me on my garmin account, or email me directly.

I too recently noticed that my trekking and mountaineering tracks created with my Fenix have not synced at all to Garmin Connect.

This same thing is happening to me. Vivofit and Fenix 2 both have same issue.

My vivofit is only 5 days old & will not sync with iPhone or Mac Pro. Luckily I purchased at Costco. After reading this forum, and seeing no response from Garmin, I am returning it today. Too bad, I did enjoy it for 3 days, then the sync stopped.

Same problem. Bought mine 4 days ago, and now this morning it will not sync. I've tried everything, to no avail.
Has anyone gotten a response from Garmin? I've sent an email, but they aren't open on weekends.

I don't care uploading my Vivofit data to the internet. I don't care sharing with the world how many calories I spend every day.

Why the heck does Garmin Express insist on transferring every piece of data to some web server that obviously hardly ever works, instead of storing those data in local files on the user’s computer?
  • I'm having the same problem. Did anybody figure out a solution to losing their data?
