Garmin malfunction, will not sync the 8 hour ride I performed today.

I just rode over 100 miles using my Garmin 910XT. When I hit the lab button to reset it made a long beep, an unusual one. Now that activity cannot be synced or recognized by Garmin Express nor Wahoo. It is as if it never happened even though the activity exists on the History portion of the 910XT menu. All other activities this week will sync.
  • It is possible that the .fit file that describes your activity is corrupt. You should try to locate the .fit file for your activity, and link to it here. Someone can try to run the Fit File Repair Tool on it, and possibly recover all of your data.

This support article describes where you can go to look for the affected .fit file. Unless you do lots of 8hr rides, it should be pretty easy to pick out the file, it will be the large file (probably about 200KB, but the actual size depends on which accessories you used) that was recently uploaded.

As Travis suggested - attach the .fit file from your ride in a reply message and I will see if I can fix it with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    cheers
