unable to manually upload a .gpx file

I accidentally erased the record of my 12-mile run the other day so have tried to upload a record (saved as a .gpx file) from mapmyrun.com, but I keep getting this error message:

An error occurred with your upload. Please try again.

Have tried many times, on 2 different computers. changed the filename to something short and without special characters - still no luck.

Is the manual upload working?

The Garmin Express Upload/Import functionality is very picky about the format of the files that it will accept. Sometimes it is something as simple as the activity type is not accepted, other times it is the format of the data.

Post a link to your .gpx file so we can have a look at it.

I am having the same issue uploading .gpx files to Garmin Connect. I've tried several, here is a link to several files - http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3709050

I might be wrong, but AFAIK Garmin Connect does not let you upload a route or course file. It has to be an activity file.

.gpx files can contain either activity or a course/route data and other stuff, but unless it's activity data, then GC will balk.
