I can't edit my activities in Garmin Connect

Is there any known issue which affects the editing of the activities in Garmin Connect? I can't even give a name to those I upload!
  • I had the same problem yesterday. It seems to work for me now.

I am also having trouble editing my activities. I can edit the title, but "full edit" mode won't work. It won't work neither with the pencil button, nor with the wheel button and then edit in the context menu. This is true both for classic and modern view. I am using Mac OS 10.10.1 and Safari 8.0.2. Upon clicking the edit button, the map view is changed to grey and the mouse courser changes to a an arrow with a spinning wheel (which on Windows would be an hourglass, I guess). Does anyone know how to fix this or in case it is a bug, where I can open a service request or something alike at Garmin?

The Javascript Console is showing the following output upon loading the activity and clicking the edit button:
[Log] locale set to en (content.js, line 21121)
[Log] SSO expiration updated. (common.js, line 336)
[Log] CONNECT expiration updated. (common.js, line 336)
[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) (jquery.min.map, line 0)
[Log] Chart load time: 235ms (ActivityPageView.js, line 12)
[Log] locale set to en (content.js, line 21121)

And I'm having exactly the same problem using a Mac with both Safari and Firefox, and have done for several weeks.

My 310XT must be coming to the end of its life before long: after the farce of having to use a Polar heart rate strap to even use the Garmin watch (their strap proved useless and not fit for purpose after many purchases before DC Rainmaker put me on to the Polar strap) plus the Garmin Connect facility being full of bugs such as this means I'll be returning to Polar.
  • Same here on a recent Mac with newest software. Editing activities not possible !
Tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox... :-(
  • This worked for me on Friday and is not working since today morning - there is something wrong with web page that prevents opening session in edit mode.

Not sure if there is any place where we can officially report this issue to Garmin developers?

I've had the problem for two days on and off. It's a server issue at Garmin. I'm running Win 8 and I've tried Chrome, IE, and Mozilla. All just show the spinning circle when I try to edit an activity. Garmin needs to address their server side. I've had issues as have others when trying to sync also. While I'm complaining. Garmin also needs to become a "steps" partner with "myfitnesspal". Doing workarounds is frustrating. Possibly they sold a boatload of devices at Christmas and the servers are having issues keeping up? Pardon my sarcasm.
  • Hey Hoogland, I am in NL also - might've been something related to NL only (which would explain why there are only relatively few complains)?

Let's hope that they fix it soon as it is still not working for me :(

Well, following up on another poster's idea to change geographic location, I used a VPN to log in through a server in Singapore (I'm in Canada). Guess what? It allowed me to update and edit my activities. Clearly Garmin's app is looking for some Geo location data. Why it would need that to do an update/edit is beyond me.
