After syncing my vivofit, my total steps update in the "Today" window right away, but in the Weekly Leaderboard and the Steps Reports, they do not update right away. I have a wait a long time and refresh many times for the data to finally update. This is very annoying.
They are being Garmin. No further explanation needed. It's their modus operandi ever since I have been using their products (which is several years). Good basic concepts, often unique. Infuriatingly shoddy execution.
Don't rely on Garmin for keeping your data safe. Not if you want it to be complete.
Good news - it's working again today. My steps are downloading as they should now.
Bad news - really annoyingly the fix only seems to have worked for today onwards. The last two days are blank as if I did nothing! My steps history still shows on my watch but connect says I did 0 steps.
I know it seems a small issue but it's really annoying. I should be here crossing my fingers each time I want to update my data with an expensive product. It should just work. But it doesn't. It feels very poorly put together on the data side and it really lets Garmin down. I'll still keep an eye on Fitbit. If they release a tracker on par with the FR 235 then I'll head back to them for their reliability.
Mine started working but was missing 2 days data. I'm happy to say it's all showing now. Even the MFP app is syncing for a change too. Someone at Garmin fixed things thankfully :)
