Hi. Is it possible to generate graphs (weekly, monthly...) of run distance, average pace etc? I was able to do this with Runtastic and it was very useful.
Yes. From the dashboard, click the three horizontal line icon, then click Reports. You should be able to click Running, then Total Distance. Finally you can select the time interval from the tab on the right.
You can also do some of this with the widgets on the dashboard, but they are not as flexible.
You can graph it right there on the reports page. If you want a graph of your run distance for the last 4 weeks, you click Running, then Total Distance, then 4 Weeks. You get a bar graph showing your distances over a 4 week interval, and you can look back/forward on the calendar using the < and > buttons. If you want average pace shown by month, click Running, Average Pace and 6 Months and you'll get a scatterplot of that data. If this isn't what you want, perhaps you should be a bit more precise in your description, or explain to me where my understanding of what your asking for is wrong.
When I mentioned widgets, I was talking about the little tiles on the dashboard. If you go to Garmin Connect, you should have a dashboard. If you click the three horizontal line icon on the left, mouse down to Reports and then over to the > symbol, you can click + Add to Dashboard to add the reports widget to your dashboard. Then you can configure the widget as you see fit (given the restrictions imposed by Garmin of course).
The Garmin Connect website doesn't have separate PC/Mac versions. This functionality is available on all browsers, provided you have access to the modern Garmin Connect. You should have been stuck on the first step of my description above if you didn't have access.
Follow these directions exactly. If something doesn't match up with what I'm saying, or you get stuck, describe exactly what you see and why you can't follow the instructions to completion.
Go to Garmin Connect.
You should see the text CONNECT powered by Garmin across the top-left of the page.
You should see a button bar on the left edge of the screen. The first icon from the top is three horizontal lines, the second looks like an inbox, the third it two arrows, and the fourth is a head/shoulders.
Click the three horizontal bars icon.
A bright blue slide-out menu should appear from the left edge of the screen.
Near the bottom of the list you should see an item labeled Reports.
Click the wordReports in the slide-out menu.
The Reports page should appear.
Along the left side of the Reports page are several categories (Health & Fitness, Running, Cycling, Swimming, All Activities, and Progress Summary).
Click Running from the category list.
The Running category should expand and you should see several different reports to choose from (Active Calories, Activities, Average Heart Rate, Average Pace, Average Run Cadence, Average Speed, Max Heart Rate, Total Activity Time, and Total Distance).
Click Total Distance from the report list.
The graph should update.
Near the top of the graph, off toward the right, you have four tabs (7 Days, 4 Weeks, 6 Months, and 12 Months).
Click 4 Weeks.
Now you have a graph that displays your running distance for a four week period.
Near the top-left corner of the graph is a Today button, and next to that are < and > buttons. Next to that is a date interval showing what date range the data is being used.
Use these buttons to control which four week period that the data is being displayed for.
