How to download from GC?

you don't AFAIK. You can only send the course to your device via Garmin Connect. You could send it to your device, then copy it out of the courses folder from your device. However, depending on what device you have, it may not be the type of file you want. But file conversion tools to put it in a different format can be found if you are slightly computer literate.

Since I am on vacation now, without my Garmin-device, but not without my PC.

You can download the data in a few formats. I described how to do it a few months ago here.
