I just upgraded from a 200 to a 500 mostly for HRM. I've always wanted to know in 'Garmin Connect Explore Activities/Courses' if you can set the map default location to a different one. It defaults to the Kansas City area.
Hi I have the same question ( mine defaults to London 120 miles away) looking throughout different forums it seems that the map location is done by your computers IP address not by your own location , therefore difficult to change , I'll keep looking if I find anything ill get in touch Cheers Martin
Ok, that makes sense. I just looked up the location of my IP address provider, and lo and behold, they're located in Kansas City. Somebody was saying that over time, a year in his case, the default location was close to where he rides. There may be some merit to this, because when I do a certain zip code now(my primary ride location), it doesn't immediately go back to the Kansas City area, although it still starts there when I click on Activities. When I do an adjacent zip code, it reverts back to Kansas City after displaying results.
