Setting Garmin Connect online map to home area

My Garmin Connect map always defaults to an area 30 miles from my home. Is there a way to reset it as part of my profile so I can log in and have my map reflect where I actually do most of my riding? It's a nuisance to have to move around the map before I plan a course. Similarly, the heat map always defaults to running, and I'm a cyclist. There must be a way to set these, but I don't know what it is.
  • As far as we can tell, the maps default to a location based on the IP address of the computer you are using to access Garmin Connect. Nobody really knows which service is being used, or if that service allows updating their geolocation data. There isn't a way to tell Garmin Connect where you want the map to zoom in by default. As for the heatmap, it appears that it always defaults to running for all users. I don't see a way to change it. It seems this would be a bit of information that should be stored in a cookie. Perhaps you should mention it in the Feature Requests forum.
