How in the *** do you upload a ride?
  • It depends on the device and the software you are using. Could you give us a tiny bit of data to help?

So you don't believe that you are using any application software to access the data on your Edge. While this is possible, I'm fairly certain that you are using the Garmin Communicator plugin. Regardless, if you want to manually upload data from the Edge 800 and you are looking at the modern Garmin Connect, go to the activities page and click the Import link on the right. You should get a popup dialog that allows you to manually upload activities from your Edge. Click the Choose File button and browse to the activities folder on the drive storage for your Garmin device (something like G:\Activities if I remember correctly), then click Upload Activities From File.

Another option would be to download Garmin Express and configure it to automatically upload your activity data. Doing this has the advantage that you should be able to send data (heart rate zones, power zones, courses, ...) to your device from Garmin Connect.

If you configured the device and Garmin Express, you should have a Sync Now button in Garmin Express. Clicking that button should upload your activity data. Next to the button it should display the last time it successfully uploaded activity data. If it says your data is sync'd, but you're not seeing it in Garmin Express, it is likely that you have an account problem. Most likely the Garmin Connect account that is associated with your device is not the one that you are signed into Garmin Connect with. You can fix this on the device tab in Garmin Express.
