Garmin connect - Activities not syncing correctly

I'm really stumped here, wonder if anyone could assist please - I can upload my activities from the Garmin 910XT via the new Garmin Express module, however all my recent activities show within the 'sports' dashboard, but when i go to the Activities section it only shows up to May 2014 which was my last activity via the old module. No improvement when I go to the old version as it only shows the Garmin Swim and doesn't even register that I have another device.

Is there some hidden sync button I've missed somewhere please?

Also - I've continuously clicked on 'Metric' units within my profile however it's still showing all my activities in Statute?

grateful for any assistance, please?

Many thanks!!

You're changing the setting from within Garmin Connect and it isn't taking effect from within Garmin Connect? If so, go to the settings page. Are the units set to Metric? If so then you should be all set. Otherwise set the units to Metric. Close the browser window, and then return to the page. Is the setting set to Metric now? If not, then there is some sort of problem saving your preferences. It could be a browser problem, or it could be some sort of issue with your account.

If you can, I'd suggest trying another browser or another computer just to eliminate it from the list of possible issues. If another browser/computer resolves the problem, then it is a problem with the browser/computer that you were using. You might need to delete cookies, or reset the browser entirely.

I'm having the same problem as the original poster's first issue, which wasn't addressed in this reply. Sometimes I can see my newly uploaded activities when I got to Garmin connect from within the Garmin Express app, but when I either connect to the site directly or when I look at my activity list, I only see activities from BEFORE the switch to this new Garmin Express app. I want to see all my activities, old and new but I can't, and I've had a lot of trouble with this new Garmin Express thing. Is there a way to go back to using the old method? If not, is there a way I can get to the files directly on my computer and bypass Garmin Connect altogether until it is more robust? If I could get to the raw data files I can analyze them with other applications.
  • It sounds like there are two accounts active here. One account was in use before the switch, and another account after. I don't know how you could have done this, but I'm guessing it is possible. The OP already verified this because the measurement units setting isn't sticking (it is sticking, but it is for a different account).

I think you may be able to fix this moving forward by changing the Garmin Connect account associated with your device in Garmin Express. In Garmin Express, click the dropdown box on the left and select the device you are using. Then click the Device link on the right. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. I can't recall from memory what the name of the button/link is, but you want to change the account that is associated with the device. When you provide the account credentials, be sure to enter your user name as you would if you were to sign into Garmin Connect directly.

If all of this goes as planned and you are able to fix the association between Garmin Express and your original Garmin Connect account, you'll probably want to get the activities from the 'new' account transferred back. You should be able to do this by manually importing (click the Import link on the Activities page) the files from the cache directory on your computer. The location of that directory is described here.

Of course I could be totally off base here. In which case I think your best bet would be to contact Garmin support. Hopefully they'll be able to get it situated. Once you do figure out exactly what the problem is, and how to fix it, please post back here so that we know.
