FR910XT no longer uploads activities

My Forerunner 910XT has been uploading activities regularly without fault for a year since new. Then on 2014 June 24th it stopped uploading and the same problem repeats itself since that date.

Garmin Ant agent connects and does its cycle of down loading and 910XT progress bars complete to 100%.
Garmin Agent then reports "Last Transfer failed"
No activities since June 23rd appear uploaded in my Connect Dashboard.

\Appdata\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\serialnr\Garmin Connect\Pending Uploads\ has six files 1-1328-ANTFS-1-2, -2 and -3.1.FIT

I have tried delting these but they reappear after the above cycle.

WIN 7 64 bit platform.

Please advise how to recover.
  • I'd try to manually upload each of the recent .fit files in the Activities directory. If any of them fail, I'd save them to my desktop to handle later. Once I'd manually uploaded all activities that I could, I'd delete the .fit files from the Pending Uploads folder. Then I'd make a short bogus activity and save it to my 910 to see if the automatic uploads were working again.

  • ANT Agent is older software that is no longer being updated. However, it should still work, so it isn't clear to me why you are having the problem. Travis's suggestion above is good one, but ultimately I'd recommend migrating over to Garmin Express and see if that resolves your issue. You can download it here:

    Visited Garminconnect.com
    Downloaded and Run GarminExpress.exe
    Using GarminExpress - Instigated Sync
    Observed each individual upload Activities so as to see which particular activity was recalicitrant. (the Activity immediatley following last successful upload i.e 24th Jun 14)
    Deleted Activity dated 24/06/2014 from Forerunner and all of .FIT files on C:\Appdata\Roaming\Garmin\Devices\serialnr\Garmin Connect\Pending Uploads\*.*
    Instigated Sync again and YES - ALL RESOLVED.

    Like you say, old Ant Agent could have continued working if I had deleted Activity on 24th June. Perhaps Garmin could write a REPAIR routine for future.
