Flag a ride or activity

Have Garmin determined a way for users to flag rides that are obviously not done on bikes, but are loaded as such?

This ride, http://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/529647343, crosses several segments for which the rider has got a first for many, but how does a cyclist accelerate from 0 to 40 mph in a matter of metres?
  • Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that Garmin has provided a way to do this. Yet.

That same member did the route in the opposite direction at an 11.8mph average (vs 19.4mph), and most of the other rides are sub 15mph. Likely a cheat.
  • How were you able to see that Travis.Vitek?

The rider stops at a roundabout on the A642/M62 junction (intersection) and before he has finished crossing the roundabout, he reaches 40mph! I would hazard a guess that even a pro level sprinter would not be able to attain that speed over that distance from a standing start!
  • How were you able to see that Travis.Vitek?

There are less than and greater than symbols near the top-right corner of the activity details page. If you click the former it will take you back through the users history, and if you click the latter you will go forward.
  • So I eventually received a reply from Garmin...

First of all, please accept our apologies for not answering your email in the time we quoted on our website. Due to an unforeseeable high volume of emails and calls we’ve received this has led to a backlog, which we’ve been working hard to restore to our usual service levels.

I am happy to assist you.

Unfortunately we can not control what information Connect users are sharing, I have reported this issue the case number is 1072207.

If there is anything else I can help you with then please let me know. Alternatively you can search for a solution here: http://www.garmin.co.uk/support

Seems a bit of a half-hearted implementation if you ask me... Back to Strava then!
  • Oh that's just great..... No flagging of rides makes segments useless!?

I have no problems when I get smashed on a segment by a better ride, it just makes me train harder, but getting smashed by incorrect activity types that can't be flagged is

Just had a look at garmin segments for the first time... Seems that top of the leaderboard on some of my favourites is by a motorbike that travelled from bristol to penzance in 2.50 ... Unless and until there is a system in place to flag such idiocy im off back to strava. Not impressed
  • There is a few segments I've created and the top 2-3 people are going over 100km/h. Clicking on the link to their activity brings up activity "Motorcycling" Come on Garmin seriously fix this. A simple flagging system like Strava can't be that hard to implement.
