How to deactivate my Garmin.connect account?

I decided to quit, essentially I lost any hope. No reason to spend any time any more on site that broken. Upon deactivation, I wont all of my activities be deleted and my results be removed from all leaderboards.
Where is this option on Garmin Connect?
  • There is no such option in Garmin Connect. Garmin does provide a web API that is documented to flag this user for deletion, but I'm not absolutely certain exactly what it does.
  • You could go to the activities list page, click the top checkbox, and then click Delete to delete your activities in batches (25 at a time), but if you have lots of data like me, this would take a really long time. As an alternative, I could write up a python script to delete all of your activities. You'd need to install a python interpreter to be able to run the utility.
  • Look at the Privacy Policy for your region. The link to it should be near the bottom right of most of the Garmin Connect pages. The version for the USA says to email the webmaster or gives a mailing address to send written requests.

I am ready to quit as well. The promise and potential of garmin connect was never realized and appears to be wholly unsupported. Does anyone know of...or use an alternative cloud solution? More importantly would you recommend that alternative?
    thx
  • I personally like Strava. It works well and brings a lot of fun. It is tragic to see garmin being so incompetent and loosing. It took a lot to make me searching for alternatives. Fool me once...

  • Yeah, the switch to Modern and subsequent issues prompted me to discover Strava, and I like it.
