vivofit won't sync with mac

My vivofit will no longer sync with Garmin Express on my MacBook. It worked fine when I got it, but since the last two updates, it just will not sync with Garmin Express. The only way it will sync is with my iPhone via Bluetooth. I have tried the dongle in both USB ports (both of which work fine with other devices). This is getting really irritating. Does anybody know of any issues or fixes?

Same here except it won't sync with phone either!
  • Are you certain that your phone isn't "stealing" the connection? If your phone is near your computer, it tends to grab the connection to vivofit and prevent you from successfully pairing/syncing to your computer (although it should actually be uploading your data through your phone if this is the case). I'd recommend temporarily disabling Bluetooth on your phone when trying to pair/sync to your computer.

@HEATHERURBAN What model phone do you have? Are you on a PC or Mac? Garmin Express should be able to reliably connect to your vivofit. Be sure that your ANT stick is inserted fully into the USB port, that you have Garmin Express open, and that you are putting your vivofit into 'Pair' mode. If you are still having problems please provide as much detail as you can so someone cal help you. Alternatively, trying contacting Garmin Support:

I have had no issues since March until July 17. I have used my mac, macbook and iPhone 4S throughout and now NONE will work. It states that the data sync after a very quick cycle of syncing but the data is not there. I have been in contact with garmin since July 18th with no resolution.
  • Interesting...I had the same problem. Unable to get the Vivo to sync with my Mac so I put my iPhone in the other room and it connected right away. Who knew.

I am having the same issue. Won't sync with my MacBook. Turned off my phone, and still won't sync. I'm ready to go back to fitbit...recharing fitbit is annoying, but at least it syncs.

Mine won't sync either. I put our phone in another room but it didn't help. I am very disappointed! Any other suggestions?

My device stopped syncing 2 days ago after 3 weeks. Can't get it to sync to my iPhone anywhere. Tried a variety of wifi zones without success. Very frustrating

this is exactly my problem too -- turned off my iphone and ipad but still can't sync my vivo to my macbook...haven't been able to since July!
  • What is the point of this thread. There's no functional solution that I've found, and I believe I've tried 'em all. I have a iPhone 4, now with iOS 8 upgraded apps. But, I believe my problem started well before any of the iOS 8.0 apps or their upgrades were available. Sure I can write down the data in a spreadsheet or input in a software program like Excel, and do the same kinds of analyses as Garmin Connect does, but what's the point. The device and the software are suppose to do that for me. I'm really disappointed. I'd like to know if there's a functional solution. Can anyone please help? I'd really appreciate it.
