Not sure what's happening. I did a multi-sport workout yesterday. Connected via express, and the activity didn't show up in Connect on my dashboard or anywhere else. The activity is still visible on the device (although I can't actually see the full details of the activity when I click "View More"). So not sure how to get it or see the activity.

Same after IM CdA for me. On the watch I can see a map of the swim, but no other "laps" and no info on the swim except the map. Strava, Garmin Connect, and Garmin Training Center won't take the information. There are 6 .fit files in my Pending Uploads folder, which I tried to remove and upload again. Maybe I don't know how to flag the workout for uploading again.

My 910 XT is working fine and the transfers upload fine, however I get a message from GARMIN CONNECT that the workouts will not be available for a few days......

OK Well a few days has turned into weeks and still the workouts will not display!!!!!!!!!!

Garmin are you working on this issue?????????
  • This actually seems like very very old issue that Garmin never really bothered to fix (or at least investigate). It happens a quite lot, mostly with long workouts.

The activity has correct summary data, but does not show details on the watch. The file usually can be downloaded to the PC, but the file is broken and no app will import it. You can try to fix it wit "Fit file repair" utility (which is paid with free trial).
Every time I saw such activity, it was missing part of the data, always at the end. This makes me believe that there something happened before the activity was fully saved.
You might be able to rescue part of the activity (when fixing the file with above mentioned utility or any other, if you find another), but part of the data is completely lost since it has never been saved.

My theory is that it might be due to users switching off the watch too soon after saving activity (long holding lap button) - obviously this is a Garmin's bug in the watch.
Try to keep watch turned on for a few minutes after you save the activity (long hold the lap button) after long workout so you have good chance that everything is correctly saved before you switch the watch off. This worked for me (unless I forget and lose data like last week after nine-hour workout ;-).

I cannot be sure that this is really the cause as nobody can since Garmin does not care about investigating into this issue.
But I think this is worth to try.

Another possibility might be to remove manually old activities before the long workout so there is lot of free memory in the device. I personally do not think anymore that this is really the cause, but it might be.

Let me know if anything of this proved useful to you.

Strange, I can access the URL just fine.

However, you can safely forget the page since it is only dealing with the watch-computer pairing issues and transferring data to computer. Which is obviously fine if you have fit files on the computer. Your problem is that data does not get from the computer to the Garmin Connect (or Strava or anything), right?

If you want to upload workouts from watch into computer again, do this on the watch. Go to Menu -> History -> Transfer All.
There is no way how to say which individual workouts to upload so this is the only way, to transfer all again.
Also check that the workouts are still on the watch before you do this (sometimes the workouts are deleted from the watch after successful upload, depending on your settings).

In general, I recommend to do this:
    1. Upload or re-upload the workouts from the watch.
    2. Check the that the data files have been created on the computer.
    3. If workouts does not apper on the Garmin Connect, try manual import on the Garmin Connect website.
    4. If manual import fails, try manual import on the Strava or similar site.
    5. If that fails, you can be quite sure that the file is broken and data is gone for good (at least partially).
    6. If you want to save at least something, check "fit file repair" tool.

The date of the file changed after uploading again, but the result is still the same. On the watch I can't view laps or other details, but it displays 140 miles, and 12+ hours. After importing the file it's 76 miles and about 5.5 hours. Garmin Connect, Training Center, and Strava all show the same information. Unless there's a file with a strange name that I'm not seeing, I'm afraid the effort is not recorded.
