Quick Edit in the Name field and lose Calories bug

Connect seems to have a new bug. Could others try this and see if they can reproduce it. In Calendar view click on an Activity then hit Quick Edit (not View Details: "pencil": Quick Edit). In the Name field edit the name and hit Save. See if your Calorie calculation disappears.

Also for those using Safari. When in View Details and I edit (pencil: Quick or Full Edit) and make changes all changes will save EXCEPT the Name. I can't change the Name from detailed view. Is this a Safari problem?

EDIT: Write down you Calories first and then you can replace the info with a Full Edit.

I think I've isolated when the bug appeared. Garmin started auto calculation of Calories for manually added Activities on June 17. I think this is when the bug was introduced and is related to the change.

Same problem here. Didn't notice it till this a.m., but it appears to have started this past week. Would appreciate a fix from Garmin.
  • Same here. When uploading the activity, the calories are displayed, but once I use Quick Edit to change the Title of the activity, the Calories disappear. They are still on the device, so this seems to be a Garmin Connect issue

    Copied from another thread.

Hi, I've been using the quick edit in the calendar screen for most of this year. I edit the name only so that I can see my workouts. I don't change anything else but two weeks ago the calories started disappearing. They were always saved in the past so this does appear to be something new that has recently started occurring. The first time I noticed this problem was after my workout on June 23rd. I hope this can be resolved soon. Also just to let everyone know, in calendar when I select quick edit the calories are showing up but after I save the name change the calories disappear. I have to go to activities and using full edit I can enter the calories manually but I'd rather the data be saved automatically like it used to be.

I have the same problem using safari on mac. would like to keep renaming activities, but annoying to have to write anything down first - seems to defeat the purpose of the activity log.

Same! Rarely change activity name from the calendar view, usually do it from the activity details view itself, but wasn't changing anything else on the last two runs so I did it, and noticed this today. That's definitely what was different about these last two runs!!

    Mac with Safari 7.0.5
  • Yep - same issue here. Actually, you don't need to change anything - just go to Quick Edit from Calendar then save (rather than just cancel).
I normally do Quick Edit in the Activities list to rename, add courses and change activity type (fitness etc) for a bunch of activities at once, but then use Calendar view to add the WorkOut details for activities that were part of a scheduled training plan, as it's easy to cut and paste the details from the scheduled workout to the activity in Calendar view.
Until I picked up this post, I thought Connect wasn't correctly loading Calorie data for training plan workouts, but this helped me track down the real culprit!
