Sending Courses to device

I have created a course on Garmin Connect but when I click "send to device", although the Garmin XT310 displays "transferring data" Garmin Connect just says it is having trouble syncing. I had no trouble today uploading a run from the XT310 but it still will not download my course. Has anyone else had similar problems with an XT310?
