HELP ....MapMyRide

Hi all
I'm organising a charity bike ride for 150+ cyclists from Buckingham Palace to near Paris for a British Army Regimental Charity to help the wounded, bereaved families and those with mental illnesses etc. I already have the route set up in individual legs in MapMyRide but would really like to have it accessible as a 'pre-done' route in Garmin car Sat Navs for the Support Crew and some of the lead cyclists. Is there any way I can import eh route segments from Mapmyride to save me having to spend hours recreating everytwist and turn on the 260 odd mile route .... please say there is??!!!!
Thanks
Charlie
  • Well as you can export it as a .gpx file you could import it into Basecamp, tweak it as you see fit and then provide it as a .gpx file for car satnavs. However you need to bear in mind that a route sent to a car satnav will be recalculated based on the map it has and the routing and avoidance settings. Also depending on which satnav there are limits to the number of points in the route/trip, there is detail buried in here https://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={27edcdb0-0c86-11dd-dc9c-000000000000} but basically the newer nuvis that use trip planner are limited to 30 waypoints and the earlier nuvis more. Adding to the confusion while the later nuvis can only have 30 waypoints they can have unlimited (or if there is a limit I haven't found it) 'shaping' points.

Thank you. Makes some sense now. Must be better than having to re-create the whoel route! I'll get on with it. Much appreciated.
