On the evening of the Solar Flares 6/12/14, our Garmin seemed to get confused and scrambled so I unplugged it and turned it off. The next morning, and each morning since, I have attempted to turn it on but nothing happens. I have even plugged it into my computer thinking it needed an update, still the screen is blank and the computer does not even recognize that the Garmin Nuvi 250w is plugged in... HELP!
Well the solar flares haven't done that. Try pressing and holding the on switch for 30 seconds or so ... that should cause a soft reset. If not, when you say you 'unplugged it' exactly what was happening when you did that?
What was it recalculating while plugged in? Did you do a safe eject? If not it sounds like the software is possibly corrupted. Your best bet will be to contact Product Support
It is possible it just turned off the screen but did not fully shut down. This could completely drain the battery. Many older nuvi models that have a completely dead battery will not power up even when connected to a power supply until the battery gets a minimum recharge. I would try leaving it plugged into the charger for a couple of hours and then see what happens.
