GPSMAP 62 sc uploading tracks, where are my waypoints?

I've been using my GPSMAP 62sc for a while now and it has been great. I've primarily just used it to record my hike for historical purposes and just because I think it's neat to have that data available to me later and to share with my hiking partner(s).

On my last hike I thought I'd start trying to use the "Mark" (waypoint?) feature. In this case, it was a large snow field that had to be crossed. I made the mark on the map with a note about it being a large snow field and saved it and it immediately showed up on my map/track.

I thought this would allow me to then go back and see my comments/marks on my track on Garmin Connect. However, when I uploaded my track, no marks, only the track...

Am I missing a step? Is it not intended to work this way?

Help?

    hi,

The waypoints used to be included in the current.gpx. If the GPSMAP like the Oregon 6xx, Garmin has a separate file for the waypoints called Waypoints dd.mm.yy.gpx. The file is located in the Garmin\GPX directory on the device.
