You are lucky not to have had problems as perusing the forums here and other independent sites would attest too. I don't think any of the Garmin users expect any software to be totally bug free and perfect. What is hard for many to handle is the fact that rather than being a seamless upgrade to use new features there are many workarounds and downright failures along the road to getting to a new version. I have just yesterday received a mail telling me that I can use the new modern connect - having followed the instructions and installed garmin express I was left in the situation where I could not successfully send workouts to my devices despite trying several of the suggested fixes found across the forums. After considerable expended wasted time I am now back to the classic interface and ANT agent. During my brief foray into "Modern" I am struggling to see many gains. Rather than trying to emulate and compete with the social media functions of Strava and the like mightn't Garmin be better off increasing the sophistication of the Garmin specific functions - i.e. make workout definition better (reintroduce some of the features lost when Training Centre was abandoned). Introduce more training plans with more sophisticated ability to customise them to your own needs and send them to your device - that would be a real differentiator over these other sites.
I agree some users have problems, but again the switch to Modern for me worked without a hitch. Some folks on some computers struggle, but in the vast majority of cases it's because of issues with their PCs, not a Garmin issue. I know that doesn't help with those who do struggle but that's why forums like these exist.
It's no different to users of phones, tablets, e mails etc ... peruse those forums and some folks have issues there too. The problem is that everyone expects everything to work every time no matter what ... but with the plethora of PC types, OS, programs etc out there it simply doesn't happen for everyone.
If you had really invested in Garmin, (ie bought GRMN a year ago) your investment would be worth nearly twice as much today. Probably it is better to invest in Garmin stock than Garmin kit.
